Week 10 MKMMA – Os homini sublime dedit, coelumque tueri jussit

man gazing at the stars

To man he gave an erect countenance, and bade him gaze on the heavens, that thus he may be directed to set his affections on things above for what we see has not its due influence upon us unless we consider it. ~ Matthew Henry

We have undertaken a journey of great discovery. Though it runs with hardship and a constant reminder of our own inabilities, we find small and ever increasing signs of change.  A step, a consideration, a gesture, an act of service all find our mind forgetting and declining in certain thoughts and instead  thinking on these things;

  • forgetting a negative thought found so prevalent in our daily habits as it is replaced with a positive life giving idea or concept
  • composed of peace and repose our thoughts rest where creativity thrives
  • reminded to forgive and let go of the anger and resentment which keeps us in bondage and become untangled…FREE
  • acknowledging our affective thoughts are of our own choosing
  • realizing that when a desire is established our sub conscious works to manifest it

I will persist until I succeedBull,

The bravery of each bull is then rated with care according to the numbers of times he demonstrates his willingness to charge in spite of the sting of the blade. Henceforth I will recognize that each day I am tested in like manner. If I persist, if I continue to try, if I continue to charge forward, I will succeed. ” ~ Og Mandino

“The law is that Thought is an active vital form of dynamic energy which has the power to correlate with its object and bring it out of the invisible substance from which all things are created into the visible or objective world. This is the law by which, and through which all things come into manifestation; it is the Master Key by which you are admitted into the Secret Place of the Most High and are “given dominion over all things.” With an understanding of this law you may “decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee.”  ~ Charles Haanel, MasterKey, Chapter 10

We have been created as the image bearers of the Most High.  It is our duty to consider the heavens. We gaze upon them as only mankind can. By this, among other things, man is distinguished from the beasts. We are made erect in stature and countenance to look upwards towards heaven. The heavenly bodies are not only the creatures of the divine power, but subject to the divine laws. They can never be altered.

As image bearers of the Most High we have been given the gift of bringing things from the spiritual and manifesting them to the physical. Our thoughts are as important as they can bring to presence those things that are not yet.

From the wisdom book in the Bible called Job this verse is taken from the discourse of Eliphaz a friend of Job. He has come to give encouragement and exhortation to Job during his calamity. (Job 22:28) “Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall be established unto thee,”

In other words;

Matthew-Henry“Thou shalt frame all thy projects and purposes with so much wisdom, and grace, and resignation to the will of God that the issue of them shall be to thy heart’s content, just as thou wouldst have it to be. Thou shalt commit thy works unto the Lord by faith and prayer, and then thy thoughts shall be established; thou shalt be easy and pleased, whatever occurs, Prov. 16:3. This the grace of God shall work in thee; nay, sometimes the providence of God shall give thee the very thing thou didst desire and pray for, and give it thee in thy own way, and manner, and time. Be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” ~          Matthew Henry

If our thoughts are predicated upon the Divine, we then hold our thoughts in harmony with the creativity that fills the heavens. We complete the circuit, power and growth occurs. However just thinking is not enough as Matthew Henry said” we must commit our works”

“Knowledge will not apply itself. You must make the application. Abundance will not come to you out of the sky, neither will it drop into your lap, but a conscious realization of the law of attraction and the intention to bring it into operation for a certain, definite, and specific purpose and the will to carry out this purpose will bring about the materialization of your desire by a natural law of transference. If you are in business, it will increase and develop along regular channels. Possibly new or unusual channels of distribution will be opened and when the law becomes fully operative you will find that the things you seek are seeking you.” ~ Charles Haanel, Masterkeys, Chapter 10

Powerful words! “Abundance will not come to you out of the sky, neither will it drop into your lap…”

“Abundance is a natural law of the Universe” and “that mind is the active principle whereby we are related to the things we desire.”

Establishing our thoughts towards the Creator, committing our plans and working towards our goals, finds the law of growth beginning to take effect.

Keep looking upward !!!

    Again, a great inspiring post. I love the quotes you added from Matthew Henry. What magnificence to be image bearers of the Most High and to be working within his unchanging laws.
